One of the few sports persons across the globe who earned a great amount of respect both on and off the field, Rahul Dravid is not only an idol for me but also for millions of other fans across the globe. This blog is a tribute to a legendary cricketer or I’ll say a true gentleman and a valued human being who inspired many a sports lovers.
Personally, I play professional badminton and some of you could say that my idol could be a Lin Dan or a Taufik Hidayat. But liking a player or trying his playing style doesn’t make him an idol. An idol is someone to whom you can relate to or deeply admire. Dravid certainly has these traits. Not even a player, even a student or a working professional or even a businessman can learn from Qualities of Dravid.
I still remember how many times, Dravid donned a role of a wicketkeeper or opened the innings for India in both test matches and ODIs just for team’s sake. This man kept the team’s welfare always ahead of his personal interests. He didn’t like wicket keeping, all through his life he batted as a middle-order batsman but he also opened for India. Such go-getter attitude, high amount of concentration and calmness is something which every student will like to have. Rahul’s sound batting technique and his ability to play long innings won him the title of THE WALL.

All these things are very personal and there are endless positive effects that the legend Rahul Dravid had on me in different periods in my life. Such great ambassadors of game come rarely in centuries….
